Coated paper.-Parchment paper is coated with a solution of resin in ether, alcohol, &c., dried in a current of air, warmed and brushed over with a metallic powder ; or the paper with its resin coating may be drawn through the heated metal powder. By applying differently-coloured metal powders to different parts of the paper, variegated effects are produced. The improved paper is air, grease, and water proof and may be used in place of tin foil &c. for packing purposes.
