Skips. - Relates to apparatus for loading and unloading ships and trucks and other vehicles, and consists of a bucket A having a movable bottom B, attached to a cross-piece E, as shown in Fig. 1. This piece E is attached to a chain f by means of shackles F, so that when the bucket is supported by the chain f the bottom is closed. To empty the bucket, the chain f is released and the bucket supported by means of the handle G, which, at the same time, prevents the bottom from falling too far by engaging the shackles F.
