Food for animals.-In a process of treating beet roots for the manufacture of sugar, the more or less disintegrated roots are treated with a large quantity of previously expressed juice, heated to 60‹-100‹ C., before being fed into the press. The residues from the press are rich in nutritious matter and may be used as food.
