Bottles.-Relates to a process for crystallizing rock candy and the like within bottles in which it is desired to produce an inner crystalline coating previous to filling the bottles with an alcoholic saccharine liquor. The bottle is first rinsed out with a thick sticky boiling syrup, and, after draining off the surplus liquid, a quantity of coarse granulated sugar is introduced, and the bottle quickly turned or revolved so as to cover the whole of its interior with the sugar. The bottle is allowed to stand until dry, and is then filled with the alcoholic liquid, which should be saturated with sugar and have a temperature of about 65‹ F. The bottle is afterwards connected to an air pump and the air exhausted so as to remove the bubbles adhering to the sugar, and is then allowed to stand for some time to allow the saccharine liquid to produce the after-crystallization.
