Bolts; screw sockets.-Relates to improvements in the invention described in Specification No. 24,948, A.D. 1901, and particularly to hooked clamps for fixing joists on which flooring is laid. A clamp for attachment to girders c, Fig. 4, consists of a bolt a, with a claw b, fitting under the girder flange, and a bent plate d having two flanges bent at right - angles in opposite directions. One flange is attached to the joist f by a screw h, and the other is screwed down upon the bolt by a nut e. In a clamp to be used for floors laid on cement, concrete, and the like, the claw b is replaced by a forked end similar to that in Fig. 3, which shows an arrangement for temporary floors, consisting of a screwed socket b, closed by a plug i when not required, into which the bolt a is screwed.
