22,332. Dronsfield, J. Oct. 16. Roving and thread guides, which are operated by a crank and connecting-rod, have their motion made more regular by giving the crank a variable velocity. A shaft a clamped in the bracket b carries, by an eccentric-pin d, a variable-velocity crank which is driven by a stud i on a rotary sleeve h on the shaft, and a pinion g on the boss e of the crank gears with an internally-toothed wheel l bearing the crank-pin r for reciprocating the guides. The crank-pin r being upon the coverplate n, the latter has slots to take on the securing- screws q so that the stroke of the crank r can be altered.
