Condensing spirits.-In order to prevent the escape of alcoholic vapour in distilleries, the pipe from the condensing-coil to the receiver is provided with an upwardly-extending branch connected to a subsidiary condensing-coil, and the discharge ends of both pipes are partly covered, leaving only a small opening at the bottom of each, for the escape of liquid, the vapour being retained in the pipes and thus forced to return through one or other of the condensing-coils.
