8557. Donisthorpe, A. R. April 14. Crimping fibres.-Rovings of wool, animal hair, mixed wool and hair, &c. A are coiled, spiralled, wrapped, or twined round one or more cords, threads, or wires B before or after dyeing. The winding may be effected by traversing the cord, thread, or wire at right - angles past a bobbin - holder which contains the rovings on a bobbin. The rope formed is wound on to a bobbin, on which it is heated to set the crimp, which, when the cords or threads are cut or removed, comes out as shown at C.
