Chucks.-In a self-centering chuck, four screw rods a, b, c, d, with alternately right and left handed threads of the same pitch carry equal bevel-wheels f at their ends which engage and ensure equal movement of each of the jaws g. The wheels may be put out of gear for eccentric work by removing packing-pieces h. A plate i is screwed on the front of the chuck to prevent the turnings from getting in the wheels.
