Filtering chemicals and metallic solutions.- Crushed ore is treated successively with air under pressure and with ammonia in a closed vessel having porous horizontal partitions between which the ore is placed. Each partition is formed of two sheets of perforated metal enclosing two sheets of metal gauze, between which again is a sheet of silk, wool, or similar substance, the whole acting as a filter.
