A Combined Book-indicator and Book-marker

Bookmarkers; indicators, library.-A combined bookmarker and book indicator is formed by bending a piece of metal, preferably wire, and attaching the bookmarker, as shown in Fig. 4. One end of the wire is formed into a flat coil A, or a shield may be attached to the wire. The device is attached to the back of the book, which is held between the ends A, C, so that the shield or coil A is visible and indicates the book which is being read when it is returned to the shelf. The bookmarker consists of a ribbon D or the like on which slides a thin strip of celluloid E to indicate the place where reading was stopped. Several ribbons may be used, and the Provisional Specification states that the coil or shield A may be arched to fit the back of the book.
