Telescopes.-Relates to attachments for protecting the interlocking surfaces of the detachable parts of gun sights. The sighting-device A, Fig. 16, is carried when in use by the carrier B, Fig. 14, to which it is attached by dovetailed grooves and a spring catch c3; when it is removed a cap F similar in construction to the interlocking part of the carrier B is slipped over the bearing-surfaces and locked by a catch g3 similar to the catch c3. The carrier B is protected in like manner by a plate D, carrying, if desired, an auxiliary sight E. When two telescopic sights are carried by a gun, the attachments for the sighting-devices may be connected by a Z-shaped piece F', H, K, Fig. 17, so that they may be used as field glasses. The attachment F3 is slidably mounted in the arms K, so that the distance between the optical axes of the telescopes R, R1 may be adjusted by a nut N.
