Cleats or holders. -A holder or grip for suspending the guide-ropes of pit cages consists of wedges a, b, which hold the rope between them, are fitted within a divided tapered sleeve c, and are interlocked as at a1 so that if there is any movement within the sleeve both the wedges and the rope move together, the rope being thus gripped more firmly. The sleeve c is secured by bolts and clamping-rings f.
