Anemometers. - An apparatus for measuring differences of pressure in gases, especially chimney draughts, consists of a rotatable plate or body d mounted within a liquid container c divided into two compartments by a partition f. The gas in the smaller compartment is subjected to one pressure through the tube g, while the larger compartment is exposed to the atmospheric or other pressure within the casing of the instrument. A pointer h is connected to the body d, which may be hollow as shown. The apparatus can be adjusted for different ranges of pressure by altering the level of the liquid.
