18,393. Nycander, O. E. Sept. 12. Yeast.-Distillers' yeast is prepared from the pith of palm trees such as Metroxylon, Caryota, Copernicia, &c., from the roots of Manihot utilissima, and like plants, and from sago, tapioca, arrowroot, &c. and the by-products and residues obtained in their manufacture.
