Actuacing pumps.-Consists of a double pump operated by a person standing on treadles 13 at the ends of two parallel centrally-pivoted oscillating levers 9, which are rigidly connected by cross-rods. The cylinders 1, 2 are cast in one piece with an air vessel 3, and the suction and discharge valves are arranged respectively in chests 4, 5. The oscillating levers 9 are fixed to a shaft 8, rotating in bearings at the top of the air chamber, and the ends of the levers are fixed to the shafts 10, turning in bearings formed in the upper ends of piston-rods 11. For lubricating the shafts 8, 10, cavities for oil are formed in the upper parts of the air vessel 3 and piston-rods 11. In a modification, the shafts 8, 10 are fixed against rotation and the levers 9 are adapted to rotate on them.
