摘要
6348. Walmsley, W. E. March 16. Puzzles.-Cards, tablets, or sheets bearing portions of maps, pictures, or series of letters or words &c., for educational, recreational, and other purposes, are formed with projecting tongues and pockets by which they may be attached one to another edge to edge. Fig. 1 shows four cards assembled, and Fig. 2 one of such cards separately. In this arrangement, the card A bearing the part of the map, picture, &c. is fixed to an intermediate sheet C formed with projections E on two sides and recesses F on the other two sides, and this is fixed on a backing-sheet B. The backing-sheet is placed so as to project beyond the card A on the two sides provided with the recesses F. These recesses form pockets to receive the tongues E on adjacent cards, and the sides of the pockets and projections are preferably inclined, as shown, to guide the cards into register with one another. In a modification, the intermediate sheet is omitted, and'the tongues E are formed on the backing-sheet, the pockets being formed between the card and the backing-sheet by leaving parts unpasted. In a further modification, Fig. 7, a single sheet A is provided with projections B, E, and with slits F to receive the tongues E. The tongues, may have locking-nicks H to retain the sheets in engagement one with another. Side cuts K and openings J serve to guide and position the tongues into the slits.
