Improvements in Apparatus for Manufacturing Gear Wheels, Motor Car Wheels, or other Wheels having Peripheries of Irregular Form

Rolling.-The apparatus described in Specification No. 5607, A.D. 1897, is modified to make it suitable for manufacturing toothed wheels and irregularly grooved wheels, such as motor - car wheels. In the apparatus shown in Fig. 1, for making spur-wheels, toothed wheels b replace the plain upsetting-rollers described in the prior Specification. Fig. 2 shows the apparatus suitable for crown-wheels. In this case, toothed wheels b1 are provided in addition to the plain upsetting-rollers. By varying the contour of the rollers, different kinds of wheels can be produced.
