13,433. Southgate, A. W. June 11. Displaying. - S t a n d s or brackets for carrying and displaying millinery, hats, bonnets, &c. are provided with two or more upwardly inclined arms. The distances between the ends of the arms can be adjusted by the relative movement of the piece to which the arms are hinged and a spreader through which they pass. To enable the article supported to be inclined, one or more of the arms may be provided with a telescopic arrangement. In the form shown in Fig. 3, three rods hinged to the sliding collar c extend upwards and pass through holes or slots in the spreader d, the slots being so arranged that they are at a greater distance from the centre of the supporting-rod than the hinges on the collar c. In the modification shown in Fig. 10, only two rods are employed, their ends being provided with cross-pieces to hold the articles. As an alternative, the collar a may be fixed as shown in Fig. 11 and the spreader d attached to the sliding rod a3. One or more of the rods may be provided with the telescopic arrangement shown in Fig. 3 to allow the articles displayed to be inclined, in which the rod b5 slides in the tube b4, and is held when suitably adjusted by the nut b6.
