Umbrellas, attaching to vehicles.-For carrying an adjustable umbrella or sunshade upon a velocipede, an angular bracket 8, 13 clipped to a tube 14 is connected to a slidable plate 7 by means of a thumb-screw 9 passing through a hole in the part 7 and a slot in the part 8, so that by relieving the screw and sliding the plate upon the bracket, the telescopically-adjustable supporting-rod 4, 5, pivoted at 12 and passing through a hole in the plate, may be adjusted to the inclination desired. The umbrella cover, preferably of elongated form, consists of an outer layer of impervious material and an inner layer of lighter material, the ribs being of hollow steel. In the original form as published under the Act of 1901, the Specificatioo also mentions the application of the apparatus to other vehicles and motor boats. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Complete Specification as accepted.
