24,977. Littmann, M. Nov. 8,1905, [date applied for under the Patents Act, 1901]. Theatres. - Relates to an adjustable orchestra chamber. The orchestra, during the performance of small operas, is situated on a vertically or horizontally movable floor c, which is made hollow so as to enclose steps e. For larger operas, a vertically sliding wall d is lowered so as to include a chamber f in the orchestra space. When no orchestra is required, the floor c is raised to the level of the stage, and the steps e are drawn out so as to abut against the stage floor and entirely close the sunk orchestra chamber. Vertically or horizontally movable walls a, b may be used as screens.
