379. Metropolitan Amalgamated Railway Carriage and Wagon Co., and Greg,. J. R. Jan. 7. Bodies.-The corrugated metal plates P forming the roof of a railway coach or wagon, or a tramcar, are connected by trough members T, as described in Specification No. 22,095, A D. 1906, the ends of the plates being flanged and secured by rivets R. The trough members are riveted to steel purlins or to angles t1 bolted to the wooden purlins U. The plates P are secured to the sides of a steel wagon by a gusset p2, Fig. 3, riveted to the plate P and the side of the trough, and to the flange w1 of the wall W by a rivet R1. The spouting S is riveted to the ends of the troughs T, and is secured between the plate p2 and the flange w1 by the rivet R'. The roof is secured to the walls of a wooden coach by a plate G, Fig. 4, which embraces the plate P and the side of the trough. Fig. 5 shows the connexion at the end of the wagon, in which the plate P is secured to a plate V provided with a drip portion v1.
