Moulding.-A half-pattern for a column or the like is raised through a table top a, Fig. 1, which forms a stripping-plate and may have adjustable strips, by levers g and links h connected together and operated by a fluid-pressure cylinder k. The pattern &c. is balanced by weights g3, and slides on guide-rods e secured to the table and supporting- beams. The tables are preferably arranged in duplicate, one on each side of a bed m on which slides, as controlled by a rack and pinion and handwheels o1, a standard m2 carrying a balanced vertically-adjustable radial arm p with run-ways for a carriage q, which is provided with a vertically adjustable ram r1 flexibly connected at r3 to a compressing-apparatus r. Instead of the levers g &c., screws may be arranged to lift the tables. Pivoted catches are provided to lock the pattern in its raised position.
