8604. Cohn, J. April 13, 1906, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Tanks for inflammable liquids are fitted with a device to prevent explosion. A tube d rests within the tube g forming the hand-hole &c. of the vessel in such a way that channels n are formed for the egress of air during filling. Perforated cylinders b, c and a gauge cylinder a are attached to the tube g and project within the vessel. A cap k covers the hole and may have a plug l soldered to it or may support a tube v containing a spring- controlled valve x. Specifications No. 21,649, A.D. 1905, and No. 6152, A.D. 1906, are referred to.
