摘要
13,300. Rees, C. June 8. Gaseliers, electroliers, &c.-To facilitate the raising and lowering of gas and oil lamps used in high buildings, the lamps are suspended by two pulleys with several sheaves forming a system which enables the lamps to be lowered with a small movement of the counterbalanced moving pulley. As shown in Fig. 5, two lamps are suspended from a fixed pendant d by means of flexible tubes which pass over a fixed pulley c and a counterbalanced pulley a, and over guide-pulleys e, f. The pulleys a, e are fitted with four or more sheaves, so that the tubes may pass more than once over them. The gas supply passes through the pendant to tubes k, l, or more tubes may be used, and from these tubes the the flexible tubes are passed over the pulleys a, c, a, e or f in the order mentioned. The pulleys a, c may be arranged above the lights, and the pulley a may be raised and lowered by a chain or the like. According to the Provisional Specification, the pulleys may be lubricated.
