June 12. 3:4-Dioxyplienylglyoxine, and 3:4-dioxyphenylalkydglyoximes of the general formula in which X may be hydrogen or alkyl, are produced by the action of hydroxylamine on 3 :4-dioxyphenylbatogenalkylketones of the general formula 3 : 4-Dioxyphenylglyoxime also results in a similar way from amino- or mono- or di-alkylaminoacetopyrocatechin. In examples, the following bodies are used as parent materials, chloracetopyrocatechin, bromacetopyrocatechin, aminoacetopyrocatechin oxalate, diethylaminoacetopyrocatechin hydrochloride, piperidoacetopyrocatechin, chlor- and brom-propiopyrocatechin (both bodies being 3:4- dioxyphenylhalogenmethylalkylketones). By the hydrolysis of dimetbylaminoacetopyrocatechin oxalate, dimethylaminoacetopyrocatechin is obtained in solution.
