A Work Board fitted with Improved Mechanical Devices for Preparing Sawing and Shooting Materials at any Angle between 30° and 150° and for Wood-working generally

15,725. Marriott, E. July 9. Mitering; planing.-A work-board for woodworking is constructed and provided with attachments for preparing, sawing, and shooting at any angle between 30 and 150 degrees. The board, which may have ledges on its underside, and may be used on a bench, table, desk, &c., has fixed to it a block partly divided vertically, and provided with adjustable saw guides C. The table D, which has a vertical face E, and lining K to prevent injury from saw cuts, turns on a pivot situated under the point of the guides C and in line with the opening, to support the material on both sides of the cut ; it is graduated on its curved surface and fixed by a peg G or cramp H. The shooting- device, Fig. 2, consists of a board L turning on a pivot M under the point Y between the two sides of a block N which form a right-angle. The block is fixed to the work-board by dowels O, and the board L is fixed in position by a screw P passing through a curved slot V. For edge-planing &c., the block N is removed and the board L is fixed by a stop R and dowel. The work-board may also be fitted with a bench stop and vice. When preparing and setting-out work, the attachments are removed.
