Fig. 3 shows the apparatus combined with break-rollers. An air-chamber R is formed below the front and back pairs of rollers Y, Z, and a pipe R1 leads up from the top of the chamber and between the pairs of rollers to a fan X1. The heavy material falls from inclined sieves into side chambers U, U', and the light branny particles collect in a chamber T fitted with a conveyer T1. Light dust is carried up the conduit R1 to the separator V, and the air returns to the machine by a pipe W and branch pipes W.
