Door and window fastenings.-In an espagnolette fastening for doors, windows, shutters, &c., the arms on the espagnolette rod A are in the form of springs B adapted to engage fixed stops C on the frame, so that when the door &c. is closed, a uniform pressure is exerted and the door &c. is held tightly in the frame. Instead of the springs being on the rod and the stops on the frame, they may be arranged vice versa, or the fixed stops may be made to yield as well as the espagnolette arms.
