Reinforced concrete; buildings with metal skeletons; girders; columns.-Concrete and brickwork structures are reinforced by perforated metal bars, in which the material is thicker around the perforations and forms fillets, which prevent movement of the bars in the concrete. The fillets c, Fig. 3, may be formed at alternate perforations; or they may be on one or both sides of the bars. Fig. 5 shows a floor strengthened by bars e, f formed as described above and connected by other perforated bars g, h, which may be plainly perforated or formed as the bars e, f. These bars are applicable to the structures described in Specification No. 27,632, A.D. 1906, such as girders, stanchions, &c.
