Trawling-gear.-To keep the mouth of the trawl open, the head-line a is made of about the same length as the ground-rope b, and is supported from it by stanchions d. The foot and head lines are connected, as usual, to otter-boards c, which have removable shoe-pieces, and are constructed of planks in a skeleton-frame. The warps y are attached to chains shackled on the otter-boards.
