Cellulose.-In an apparatus for producing artificial silk, a carrying-device is provided for the thread, consisting of a toothed wheel running in liquid, the carrier being arranged between the spinning-nozzle and the winding - spool. Any liquid collecting between the teeth of the wheel, and any broken threads, are removed by a second engaging toothed wheel. In order to prevent the threads from pressing too hard on the carrier wheel, plates of glass &c. are arranged in front of and behind the wheel.
