7769. Hollingworth, E., [Crompton & Knowles Loom Works]. April 8. Loom shuttles.-A shuttle spindle for an automatic weft-replenishing loom is formed with a detachable head or end 2. This head, which engages with elastic jaws in the shuttle as usual, has a central opening of the shape shown in Fig. 3. A spring 3 fixed to the head engages in a recess 52 in the end of the spindle. In a modification, the head 2 is formed in one with the spindle, the end 7 beiug then made detachable in a similar manner.
