A collapsable receptacle comprises a skeleton frame enclosed in a cover of canvas or flexible material F. The base is constructed in two parts A, A1, either hinged together or one part sliding into the other. When the base is extended, the inner end of the part A is pushed under a metal tongue on the inner end of the part A1. The frames B, C, D are hinged to the base A, A, and are held in position by links E, E1, the link E' being provided with a hook E3 The cover F has an open end F' which is folded and closed by a carrying-strip G, which is connected to the closed end of the cover at G1 and attached to a buckle G2 at the open end.
