摘要
25,443. Kuzel, H. Oct 15, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Colloidal metals and metalloids, converting into cystalloids by heating. Colloidal filaments for electric lamps are heated in gas at a pressure not exceeding 150 mm., to prevent the formation of cavities or bubbles in the finished filaments. The heating may take place in a stream of nitrogen, mixed with some hydrogen to render harmless any small amount of air which may leak into the apparatus, at a pressure of about 30 mm., which is increased to 40 mm. when the filaments are heated to whiteness. Preferably the filaments are stretched, by weights, springs, or other means. The process is applicable to filaments made as described in Specifications No. 28,154, A D. 1904, and No. 20,372, A.D. 1907, [Abridgment Class Electric lamps &c.], especially when the colloids are made as described in Specification No. 25,864, A.D. 1906, any electrolytes present being vaporized without leaving cavities in the filaments.
