Submarine vessels. - In submarine boats fitted with soda steam boilers, the boilers and feedtanks are so arranged that the centre of gravity of the boiler plant does not shift longitudinally when the boilers are fed from the tanks. Fig. 1 shows one arrangement d i agrammatically. The feed-tank B is arranged centrally between the boilers A, and water is supplied from it to the boilers by a pump G. As shown in Fig. 3, the boiler and feed-tanks are combined in one shell, the tanks being shown at K. Instead of the two feedtanks, a single tank may be combined with the boiler. In this case, the tank is concentric with the shell H, either in the centre thereof or around its outer surface.
