Hand, foot, and like gear. - Relates to a starting and reversing device stated to be applicable to the controlling - valves of fluidpressure motors. The apparatus comprises a rope-wheel 1 or its equivalent having a projecting lug 4 thereon, which normally engages an elastically-mounted stop 5 in its zero positions. The ropes for operating the wheel are attached to a block 6 slidably mounted on the wheel and provided with inclined surfaces, which, when it is desired to reverse the motor, forces back the spring stop to allow the lug on the wheel to pass beneath it. Fig. III shows a casing for the apparatus. An internal rib 13 provided with a boss 14 carries a spindle 15, upon which the rope wheel is mounted.
