Water-absorbing appliances.-Relates to an appliance for absorbing water from cricket pitches, lawn tennis and football grounds, roadways, pathways, &c., and comprises a pair of rollers d, e, around which an endless band f of absorbent material passes. The tension of the band is adjusted by means of a jockey roller g. The water absorbed is squeezed out of the band by a spring-pressed roller h and drops into a tank k. The running wheels b may be dispensed with. Shafts for horsepropulsion, or handles c for hand use, are provided.
