Incrustation, preventing.-Barium tannate, in the solid or liquid state and either alone or mixed with free tannic acid or other suitable organic or inorganic substance, such as sodium thiosulphate or sodium phosphate, is introduced into a steam-generator either directly or with the feed-water. The barium tannate is preferably prepared by the action on barium hydrate of a solution of glucoside, such as quercitannic acid.
