Military apparatus.-Consists in suspending an explosive mine or other explosive body in the air or water by a wire from an air-ship, so as to be carried or towed to the scene of action. A winch may be provided on the air-ship for raising or lowering the mine. The explosion of the mine takes place on impact or may be controlled by electrical means operated from the air-ship. In the case of a submarine mine, a float or other means may be provided to facilitate observation. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 6029/09.
