Percussive hand tools; percussive drills and like tools.-In a handsupported percussive tool for running purposes, the piston-rod or striker e is eccentrically arranged with regard to the piston, to allow the machine to cut close to the floor &c., the handle a and other fittings being arranged so as not to project on the side adjacent to the floor &c. The bit may be secured to a bar i, held against rotation in a cylinder-extension h by a pin m and struck by the striker e or it may be secured to the piston-rod. The bit may be a drill o, a bifurcated channelling-bit with edges in line, or a breaking-drum wedge. A rocker n, detachable or otherwise, may be provided to take up irregnlarities of the floor &c. The tool-attachment, distance-piece, and wedge described in Specification 21,082/08, [Class 85, Mining &c.], may be used. Specification 20,989/08, [Class 85, Mining &c.], is also referred to.
