Geared-vane type; packing drums and vanes. -Relates to rotary pumps &c. of the type in which the pistons d are caused to recede from one another in passing the pump inlet i, and approach one another to discharge the fluid in passing the discharge port j. The pistons are mounted upon hollow pins h upon the ends of which are blocks g2 working in radial grooves g' in spiders g. The spiders are mounted upon a rotary shaft e eccentrically situated with respect to the cylinder c which bounds the annular space within which the pistons work. End rings k of channel section are fitted on the tube c and close the working chamber. One ring k is screwed on so as to be adjustable, and a locking ring n1 is provided. The outer flange k4 prevents undue friction between the pistons d and the outer casing being set up by centrifugal force. One pin h passes through holes in the rings k, the other pins passing through slots. Leakage through these slots is prevented by suitable plates l, m arranged at each end.
