Pressure - regulating valves. - A device for delivering separately at equal pressures gases received under unequal pressures, and particularly adapted for use in the manufacture of a combustible gas by mixing air with an inflammable gas, comprises a pair of lift plug valves c2, d2 mounted on a common spindle c3 and arranged to control the air and gas inlets respectively. The gas inlet d' and outlet f are arranged inside the floating actuating-bell b secured to the valve spindle, and the air inlet c1 and outlet e are arranged outside the bell but inside a closed chamber a1, which may be made gas-tight by a water seal or by ordinary packing. The weight of the valves and bell is counterbalanced by a weight b1 acting through a pulley b2, arm b3, and flexible connexion b4 . The outlet pipes are fitted with check valves to prevent pressure variations in the mixing - chamber from disturbing the working of the valvo.
