Operating and transmitting mechanism applicable generally; locking-bolts, cam-plates, and the like.-Relates to improvements in the escape crank and disk used for operating and locking railway points, as described in Specification 15,959/07. The connecting-rod 15 is attached to a crank 2 operated by a disk 1 which operates the locking- bolt through a rod 9; this disk is keyed on a shaft i, together with a plate l, which frictionally engages a bevel-wheel o driven by an electric motor. The plate l and wheel o are held together by a plate p and spring s, pressed down by a bush t and the disk 1, and adjusted by a taper bolt u. The movement of the plate l is limited by stops m on the plate and n on the casing. The disk 1 has two pins 7 which engage recesses 11 in the crank 2 to turn the crank so that a recess 5 in the disk engages a roller 14 carried by the crank, and operates the crank.
