Railway platforms and stations. - Traffic at terminal stations is facilitated by means of two stations arranged side by side with their ways extending through them and connected by reverse curves. Fig. 1 shows a plan of the high - level platforms, and Fig. 4 shows a side elevation of one of the stations. The low-track level is accessible by stairways 29, 30, and the high level 24 by stairways 31, 32 from the low level, and by stairways at the ends and through the platforms. The side or extra station is similarly built, and an elevated walk may extend across the whole of the tracks to give access to any platform. Spare cars are stored between the two stations.
