Rotary-chamber apparatus.-To avoid unequal tensions or strains caused by heat expansion in rotary drying-machines of the kind comprising a series of internally-heated tubes E fixed in tube-heads D and connected by circular iron bands F to angle-bars A, the angle-bars are secured to the tube-heads through the medium of steel springs C, the ends of the angle-bars passing freely between lugs B on the tube-heads. When steam is admitted to the tubes in known manner through the axles of the tube-heads, the springs take up the difference in length between the tubes and angle-bars due to the unequal heating.
