Bottling. - A snift - valve for a bottling- machine comprises a hollow plug E, Fig. 3, or tube H2, Fig. 5, of rubber, surrounding and covering a port B in the vent-tube A. The tube H2 is supported by a casing K. In both forms, the plug or tube is compressed between fixed and adjustable blocks D, D1. The plug E may be surrounded by a sheath H' to prevent its spreading. The vent-tube is screwed at A1 for attachment to the machine, and an air outlet H may be provided if found necessary.
