Rotary machines; offset machines.-A machine for printing a web of paper for the production of illustrated newspapers, books, paper bags, wrapping-paper, &c., of the kind by which the illustrations are printed separately from the letterpress by offset apparatus, comprises a rotary typographic printing-mechanism and a web-supply reel, and an interposed lithographic offset printing - mechanism. The lithographic offset printing-apparatus comprises planographic printing-cylinders e, f, with suitable damping and inking devices, and offset cylinders m, n by which the web is simultaneously printed on both sides. The typographic printing is effected by printing-cylinders a, a and impression cylinders b, b. The web x is led between the cylinders e, f, by which it is printed on both sides with the illustrations, and then to the typographic printing-mechanism.
