The filing-bar i is pivoted at f on a block d, rotatable with a rack e about a shaft c and slidable up and down said shaft on the rack. The vertical adjustment of the block d on the shaft c is made by means of a knob which rotates a spindle k carrying a worm h gearing with a a worm - wheel g on the pivot pin f; this worm-wheel also gears with the rack e. A straight-edge is provided to aid in setting the work in the vice u, and a spirit level y enables the filing-bar to be set horizontal.
