Bougies; cannulas and other drainage appliances; catheters; materials, special. - Transparent and flexible medical and surgical instruments, such as catheters, bougies, cannulas, drainage tubes, &c. are made from cellulose, viscose, nitro-cellulose, &c., or gelatines, mixed with fatty substances such as glycerine, oil, varnish, &c. One or more coatings may be deposited on a former, or a continuous band may be wound on; or the product may be moulded while in a pasty condition.
